Rose Administration Building contains the executive faculty and staff for The University of Alabama including the Office of the President, Vice Presidents, and Provost. International Admissions for the Graduate School, Equal Opportunity Programs, University Relations, and numerous other UA administrative units can also be found here.
Rose Administration building is named in honor of the 21st University president Frank Anthony Rose whose administration saw the successful integration of the campus, the glory days of Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant, and the protection of student rights during the start of the Vietnam War.
Built in 1969, Rose Administration sits on the location of the old Julia Tutwiler dormitory, which was demolished in order to create a separate building for the administration.
Information collected from The University of Alabama : a guide to the campus by Robert Oliver Mellown (Tuscaloosa : University of Alabama Press, c1988).
