ROTC and A&S Programs Building (U.S. Bureau of Mines)

ROTC and A&S Programs Building

The ROTC and A&S Programs Building houses the Reserve Officers' Training Corps on the UA campus as well as eTech, the College of Arts and Sciences' Office of Educational Technology.

ROTC students receive classroom instruction within the building and relax in the Cadet Lounge. There is also a computer lab that is available to ROTC students. eTech maintains and supports 96 multimedia classrooms across the University of Alabama campus.

This building once belonged to the federal government and housed the U.S. Bureau of Mines, which studied mining in Alabama until 1996 when the government shut down the program. The University acquired the building upon its decommission and the ROTC moved in from Tuomey Hall in 1999.

Information collected from The University of Alabama : a guide to the campus by Robert Oliver Mellown (Tuscaloosa : University of Alabama Press, c1988), and the ROTC’s Facilities page.
