Center for Ethics & Social Responsibility
Temple Tutwiler Hall contains the Center for Ethics & Social Responsibility on the first floor and the offices of the Blackburn Institute on the second. The facility has administrative offices, a living room, a lounge, and three seminar rooms which are used for a variety of meetings and debates.
Temple Tutwiler Hall, built in 1949 and named for alumni association president Temple Tutwiler, was home to the National Alumni Association until the construction of Alumni Hall in 1986. The building was then converted into a lab and museum to hold the Historic Costume and Textiles Collection until 2004 when the University Honors Program moved in.
In 2005 the newly created Center for Ethics & Social Responsibility replaced the Honors Program on the first floor and the Blackburn Institute took over the second floor when the building was remodeled in 2007.
Information collected from The University of Alabama : a guide to the campus by Robert Oliver Mellown (Tuscaloosa : University of Alabama Press, c1988), and interviews.
